RTL Group
RTL Group () is a conglomerate of media Luxembourg which was created in 2000 by fusion of CLT-UFA and of the British production company Pearson TV.
The group
History
RTL Group is created in April 2000 following the fusion of CLT-UFA (the group of media of Bertelsmann AG and the Groupe Brussels Lambert) with the British production company Pearson TV (property of the group media Pearson plc). In July 2001, the German group Bertelsmann becomes the majority shareholder of RTL Group following the exchange with the Groupe Brussels Lambert) from its 30% compared with 25% in Bertelsmann AG. In December 2001, Bertelsmann acquires the 22% of Pearson plc to have 89,8% of RTL Group. The 10,2% remainders are with dimensions with the Stock Exchange of Brussels.Activity
RTL Group has or takes part in the capital of 39 chains of Télévision and 32 networks of radio in ten European countries. It is the greatest group of television and broadcasting European and first producer of emission of the world.It is also an important televised production company specialized in the Soap operated S and in the plays.
Whereas Vivendi Universal and Sky Télévision misent on the launching of paying chains, RTL Group is based on the development of free channels and commercial, of which the essence of the financing comes from advertizing revenues.

Cal-TV on the chains of group RTL Nederland
Group RTL Nederland diffusing RTL 4, RTL 5, RTL 7 and RTL 8. RTL proposes several variations of the plays of cal-TV: Lijn 4 (RTL4) Live COp 4 (RTL4) 5Live (RTL5) 8Live (RTL8). These plays are proposed during in day and evening.
September 2007: The FIOD (Service of inspection of the Dutch tax department) carried out investigations in the buildings of RTL, SBS, of Endemol Nederland and 2 Way Traffic (producing of plays of cal-TV). The FIOD was in the search of materials in relation to the scenarios of the plays, the diagrams of the emissions of cal-TV, the costs and the profits brought by these plays of cal-TV.
October 2007: RTL Nederland will cease emitting in a temporary way all the plays of cal-TV diffused on its chains and this starting from November 1st
.October 9th, 2007, RTL stated that starting from November 1st, the plays of cal-TV would not be diffused any more on these chains . The plays of cal-TV made run much ink in the Netherlands. This stop makes following a letter addressed by Het Openbaar Ministerie (Dutch Public ministry) to groups RTL Nederland.
If a fraud is discovered, the amount of the fine can rise with € 670.000 , information disseminated on the site of the Dutch Public ministry
