RQ-1 Predator

RQ-1 Predator is a Drone of the air force of the the United States of America of altitude of average cruising and long autonomy.
Presentation
It at summer conceived in order to ensure the information of combat and the monitoring of zone. For its needs, the CIA developed an armed version which was then also ordered by the US Air Force. The armed version is called MQ-1 Predator
Equipment
In order to ensure its reconnaissance mission and of observation, Predator is equipped with various sensors- electro-optical Capteur Versatron Skyball Model 1, operative in the bands visible and Infra-rouge. This sensor is equipped with a mobile head being able to look with 360 degrees under the fuselage.

History
- 1994, First vol.
- 1995, In operation with the top of the Balkans at the beginning of the Albania (two lost apparatuses).
- 1996, Continuation of the operations on the Balkans, this time at the beginning of the Hungary. On the whole, 600 missions will take place on this theater of operation, including 50 exits of combat lasting the war with the Kosovo.
- 1997, the US Navy announces its intention to acquire some in order to use them at the beginning of its amphibious Porte-avions and buildings.
- 2001, In February take place the first tests of armed version MQ-1.
- 2001, In November, the MQ-1 carries out its first missions of combat in Afghanistan.
- 2002, 50 RQ-1/MQ-1 are in services within the US Air Force.
- 2002, on November 3rd, the CIA destroys a car transporting 6 members of Al-Qaida to the Yemen following a shooting of AGM-114 Hellfire since a MQ-1.
- 2002, on December 23rd, 2002, Mig-25 Iraqi destroyed a drone RQ-1 Predator.
- 2003, the US Air Force order 22 additional specimens.
- 2006, the January 13rd of the missiles launched by a Drone MQ-1 Predator of the CIA aiming at leaders of Al-Qaida killed 17 civilians in the village of Damadola to the Pakistan, in the Bajaurau tribal zone located close to the border with the Afghanistan.
