RPG high-school girl

Lycéenne RPG is one of the Roleplay S the most popular amateurs in France. Its characteristic is due to the fact that the characters are young girls a priori like all the others in a college.

The creation of RPG High-school girl

The play was born in the head from Alain Séverac says Kadnax, then large amateur of Bitume, a rather violent post-apocalyptic roleplay. In 1996, it decided to create a roleplay contrary to its practices, whose characters would be high-school girls. The idea had been inspired by Manga S putting in scene the life Japanese high-school girl. Although the play in the beginning was conceived for a very reduced public, the first rules of the game were published in the autumn 1996. Thereafter, thanks to a community of players, the rules evolved/moved gradually:

  • High-school girl RPG 2.0: Fall 2001
  • High-school girl RPG 2.1: Fall 2002
  • High-school girl RPG 2.5: Spring 2003
  • High-school girl RPG 3.0: Summer 2003 (current version)

A version 4.0 is being prepared for 2006.

To play a high-school girl

Lycéenne RPG rests on the development of the feelings of the characters; the role-play is dominating during the parts.

During the creation of the character, the player must indicate his level of sensitivity, as various psychological profiles which condition the character of the high-school girl and which make it possible to play it at the time of the parts.

Lycéenne RPG thus reproduces all the situations which can intervene during adolescence: arguments, jealousies, blows (and sorrows) of heart but also emotions of the sporting or different victories, joys of the friendship between girls…

The rules are very generic and are connected more with a system. The universe is in fact freer than one could think it a priori: the play is not confined with the Manga S high-school pupils, one can play in European, American colleges or other countries of the world; the time either is not fixed and in-outside contemporary world, one can play Lycéenne RPG in a college of the years 1950, an institute of the 19th century, even in a convent at XVIIe or the 18th century… It is even possible to invent universes and to play Lycéenne RPG in futuristic or uchronic universes.

Magic capacities

The rules of RPG High-school girl have several extensions, of which most known is that of Magical Girls which makes it possible to give magic capacities to the characters. One can thus reproduce the adventures of heroins of Manga such as Sailor Moon, but there still, it is possible to adapt these rules to other universes and to create of completely original Magical Girls. Alternative rules for the magic capacities, created by the community of the players, are also available to create more complex magic universes.

Re-elected

Existing for 10 years, Lycéenne RPG has been one of the plays the most played amateurs. A fanzine was in particular dedicated to him, persisting 10 numbers. Always very alive, it was the subject of articles in Casus Belli, Backstab, the letter of FFJDR…

Very delicate and resting much on the environment, the play counts a community of players proposing of many scenarios loan-with-to play and the forums organizing of in line parts.
