The Club

The club carries number 704. The Royal Football Club Houdinois was founded in 1926, year during which it was affiliated with the Belgian Federation of football (U.R.B.S.F.A.). There existed at the time two clubs amateurs in the contiguous communes of Houdeng-Goegnies and Houdeng-Aimeries, two communes of Hainaut so close one to the other that one named them often together under the term " deux-Houdeng". The club of Houdeng-Aimeries was called Football Club houdinois while that of Houdeng-Goegnies had as a name Sporting Club houdinois. It often happened that the two clubs meet during friendly tournaments. It was the Football Club houdinois which made in first the decision to be affiliated with the in July 1926 Federation. He played under the colors red and black. But finances of the two clubs were precarious and, under the influence of the reason, they are reflected together around the table to try to find solutions. Thus in November 1926 Sporting Club houdinois joined Football Club houdinois. The name of the club of Houdeng-Aimeries was maintained thus that the colors red and black. It is as from this day which the great adventure of Football Houdinois Club began. And in 1952, its Majesty the King Léopold III conferred the title of " to him; Royal" to give him its current name, Royal Football Houdinois Club. Under the crook of a band of comitards impassioned, the club climbs the levels of the provincial hierarchy quickly to reach division provincial. As it made frequent return tickets either towards lower division, or towards higher division, the club was called " the club of the ascenseurs" by reference to the hydraulic elevators built on the territory of the two communes at the end of the XIXè century and intended to catch up with the differences in levels between the levels of the channel of the Center. Florets of the technology of the time, these elevators are always in activity at present and make the pride of the inhabitants. During various times, the RFC Houdinois generally played however in 1st provincial (52 seasons out of 79), division within which it currently evolves/moves.
