RAF Mildenhall
RAF Mildenhall (IATA: MHZ, ICAO : EGUN) is an air base of the United States Air Forces in Europe located at Mildenhall in the Suffolk in England.
History
This base was inaugurated the October 16th 1934 by the Royal Air Force.
During the Second world war, it was occupied by formations of bombers of the Bomber Command.
In 1950, bombers of USAF settled on this platform.
The principal units of the base are currently the 100th Air Refueling Wing, the 501st Combat Support Wing and the 352nd Special Operations Group.
