- R404A is a Mélange Zéotropique of fluoroéthanes: R143a (52%), of R125 (44%) and of R134a (4%), which behaves like a fluid quasi Azéotropique. The strong polarity of these three fluids which composes it makes that this one is not miscible with mineral oils and alkylbenzene. One will use for that in cold stores functioning with the R404A, for the lubrication of the compressors, oils of the type polyester (POE). Generally used for modes low temperature, this one will have a good cold miscibility (- 60°C), but one will note a phenomenon of decomposition at temperatures > with 50°C. This is why it is important with the R404A not to function with too high temperatures of repression to the compressor. These three gases have very close temperatures of evaporation with the result that the " Glide " or " glissement" of temperature is generally regarded as negligible.
Industrial applications
-
R404A is mainly used like refrigerating fluid for applications of negative Froid (in lower part of 0°C).
At GS one makes positive cold rooms with this gas.
