R.E.M. is a group of American Rock formed with the autumn 1979, and thus baptized on April 5th, 1980 by Michael Stipe (song), Peter Buck (guitar), Mike Mills (low) and Bill Berry (battery)

Biography

In 1980, the four members of the group are students at the University of Georgia with Athens, and share a joint taste for the music. They begin their career by a round in the American south under name R.E.M., initial of " Rapid Eye Movement". As of the first individual one, Radio operator Free Europe which appears in 1981, specialized criticism feels that it holds a group of exception here and very seriously continues to believe in R.E.M when in 1981 leaves an mini-album entitled Chronic Town . Exténués by rounds and concerts ceaseless, the four musicians decide to make small a one year pause after the exit of the album Green in 1988.
