Röyksopp

Röyksopp is a Norwegian Groupe of music French (: Puffball) composed of Svein Bank and Torbjørn Brundtland, musicians. Their music is electronic (lounge) with sonorities Disco.

To note the participation of Norwegian artists on the albums of Röyksopp, such as Anneli Drecker (member of Beautiful Canto) or Erlend Øye (member of Kings off Convenience).

After collaborations with Those Norwegians, Drum Island and Kings off Convenience, Torbjørn Brundtland and Svein Berge take a lead in the front of the new Scandinavian scene with Röyksopp . With the program: “traditional” harmonies worthy of a Satie, “analogical” heat of the 70 ' S and rhythmic excesses of the 80 ' S. The Understanding makes following Melody A.M. , the first album of Röyksopp, voted by plebiscite by criticism. Left in October 2001, Melody A.M. was sold with 60  000 specimens in France and more than 1 million specimens in the world.

Melody A.M. had had the appearance of an excellent surprise: indeed he proposed a sound that nobody awaited straight coming from a country of which nobody would have thought. The charm of this music allured the amateurs of Electronic music and the amateurs the pop melody one. With regard to The Understanding the group carried out the majority of the vocal parts of this recorded album with Bergen, the duet also surrounded by Chelonis R. Jones of Get Physical Records (49 Percent), of Karin Dreijer of The Knife ( What Else Is There? ) and of the new arrival Kate Havnevik (Only This Moment and Circuit Breaker) which came to help them to make this envoutant album and of very good quality.

Melody A.M. was resolutely melody like the east The Understanding .
