Río Primero

The Río Primero or río Suquía is a river of Argentine which runs in the province of Córdoba.

It is born from fusion from two named rivers río San Antonio and río Cosquín, as of other smaller rivers which all throw in reserve San Roque of the valley known as Valle de Punilla. It crosses the center of the big city of Córdoba in which it receives a small affluent called Cañada .

As of its exit of the city it becomes a typical river of plain. It is, with the Río Segundo or Xanaes, tributary of the basin endorrheic of the salted big lake of the Mar Chiquita or Mar de Ansenuza. These two rivers, as well as the Río Dulce (or $petri, or Mishqui Mayu) are the principal surface hydrous contributions of large the lac.
The approximate length of Río Primero is of 200 km (starting from the stopping San Roque). Its average width is not of 200 Mr. As for his current flow, very reduced by the important use which is made of its water for the irrigation, domestic and industrial consumption, it is not any more but of 10m ³ /s.
Let us add that during the low water level of winter its flow is reduced considerably, but it can increase in a brutal way in the event of important rains.
