History
The foundation of Réquista (RIC ESTAR: " riche" place;) go back to the 13th century when Henri II, count de Rodez, already established with the castle of Cadars, created a country house in 1292 there and equipped it with privileges. English set fire to it during the occupation of Rouergue. At the time of the wars of religion, regulating his accounts with the Viscount of Panat, protesting lord of Castelpers and Réquista, the duke of Merry plundered the city. A fire which has occurred into 1701 deprives to us of old vestiges: the neogothic church dates from the 19th century, the most interesting buildings are in the close villages with Lincou and Saint Jean Delnous.
