see also: Etymology of Réplicon
A réplicon is a Molécule of DNA or ARN, or an area of DNA or ARN which can only retort from one Origine of replication (Ori). The replicon is the unit of Replication of the DNA bicaténaire
At the Procaryotic S, the réplicon represents the whole of the Chromosome. The Plasmide S and the Bactériophage S are réplicons with whole share.
At the Eucaryote S, there is several réplicons by chromosome. The definition of réplicon is however confused in connection with the Mitochondrie S, because those have an one-way replication with two distinct origins of replication.
