Réouven Lehrer

Réouven Lehrer ( ראובןלרר ) is counted like the founder of the town of Born-Tziona.

He is resulting from an orthodoxe Jewish family of the area of Galicie in Poland. With the growing threats aiming at the Jewish community, Réouven, entrusted by his/her parents, is adopted in Germany by the " family; Lehrer" who gives him his name. Réouven Lehrer emigrates thereafter in Russia, and it is with Odessa that it goes purchaser of a large agricultural farm which it manages brilliantly. Any monk loubavitch who it is, Lehrer does not adhere of them less to the ideas Amants of Sion.

Married to Feige and father, it becomes acquainted with Gustav Eizler, originating in Germany and established on marshy grounds of Palestine. This last, not obtaining any financial output its grounds, then tries to concede its land and buildings near its knowledge in Odessa. It meets there the landowner Jewish Réouven Lehrer, who, enjoué with the idea to become ground owner located " vis-a-vis Jerusalem " sign at once the contract of exchange between one of the most important agricultural properties of Russia and a piece of ground located in fact between Guedera and Rehovot, and not with the doors of Jerusalem. Feige his wife not wanting to give up her old father, Lehrer and her Moshé son emigrate in Ground of Israel on an afflicted ground, where only the Sudanese slave of Eizler is.

In 1882, after having arranged the grounds and the house, Lehrer and its son turn over to Odessa to recover Feiga, which again refuses to leave his/her father behind it like endangering the health of his/her other young children. Réouven Lehrer then leads it at the Rabbin louvabitch Shneur Zalman de Liadi to which it subjects the question of knowing which is most important of the laws between the parental respect and the installation out of Ground of Israel. The rabbi answers that the two laws are worth, however it closes maintenance by the Birkat-Hadéreh (blessing of the voyage). Réouven Lehrer and its family then turn over to settle in their property of Palestine, provided with farm equipment, seedlings and cattle. Its quickly absorbed economies, Lehrer is seen borrowing funds near the baron Edmond de Rothschild.

The financial position of the agricultural company being improved, Lehrer invites then, in total transgression of the Turkish law, the Juif S of Jaffa to come to be established in its property baptized since " Réouven" property; , by buying there at sold off prices plots of land. In 1889, a traveller testifies: " the Réouven property… this small establishment installed over there… it shelters only 15 families of farmers ".

Thus Born-Tziona is born , become from a town of 30000 inhabitants. The exploitation is then stripped of any medical department or pharmaceutical, which will cause the death of many children. On the 17 children of the Lehrer couple, only five of them will arrive at the adulthood.

Dr. Haïm Hissin describes Feige Lehrer thus: " Feige Lehrer which lived well after the disappearance of her husband, died in 1934, at the 116 years age. It has succeeds, almost until its last days to manage the exploitation ". One of its great-grandsons, Yaakov Lehrer gives this testimony of its Feige grandmother: " the last years of its life, it accepted many marks of respect, affection and admiration; human relations of which it had been exempted the first times. When it crossed the village, any activity ceased on its passage and each one, respectfully rose ".
