Réalmont

Réalmont in Occitan Rièlmont , is a common French, located in the department of the Tarn and the area the Midday-Pyrenees. It is locally called Réalmont charming the .

Geography

Réalmont is located at the center of the department, remotely almost equal of Albi and Castres. The Dadou is with two kilometers. Moulin S with water functioned there, replaced today by a Minoterie.

It profits from the softness of the Climat mixture of influence the Mediterranean and Atlantique.

It is dominated by the peak of surmounted Caylou of a large cross.

History

It is on March 12th 1272 under Philippe Bold the king de France, that Guillaume de Cohardon founds a royal country house which it names Réalmont. The territory on which the town of Réalmont was established had belonged to Bernard de Boissezon, rich Seigneur of the Albigensian. It held it in sub-fief of the baron of Lombers and was dispossessed by it by the judgments of the Enquiry due to Hérésie. In addition the King de France needed to increase its prestige in the area where the authority of the local seigeurs was extremely large. This is why king Philippe the Bold one decided to make clear the Forêt S which covered Réalmontais and to found there a new country house in which gathered the defenders of the faith Catholique and of the royal capacity.

It was named Réalmont ( mount réal, royal mount ).

In 1629, the prince de Condé takes and devastates the city in reaction to the catch of weapons of the Protesting S.

The city today

The center town is consisted of the old country house. A place with the arcades encircles the church. The boulevards which girdle the center town give an idea of the site of old the Rempart S.
