Quinary Diagram

The quinary diagram is a type of narrative diagram, i.e. of construction of the account, described by Paul Larivaille in the morphological Analysis of the account . It was used initially to describe the elementary structure of the Conte S.

  1. initial Situation: the decoration is planted, the place and the characters introduced and described

  2. Complication: disturbance of the initial situation
  3. Action: means used by the characters to solve the disturbance
  4. Resolution: consequence of the action
  5. final Situation: resultant of the resolution, balances final
