Quiestède

Quiestède is a common French, located in the department of the Pas-de-Calais and the area Nord-Pas-de-Calais.

Geography

The seigniory of Quiestède was bought in the years 1770 by Louis-Dominique-Eustace de Lencquesaing (1734-1802), lord of Laprée, shortly after his marriage with a Aronio young lady.

  • General Herve de Lencquesaing (1920-1990)
Military cadet, second lieutenant (1942), escapes by Spain, joined Morocco, is integrated into 2nd dB general Leclerc. Unloading, battles of Normandy, first wound, release of Strasbourg, last cavalcade of the tanks of lieutenant de Lencquesaing until Berchtesgaden. Volunteer for Indo-China and the defense of the French Empire: it is then Saigon, Cochinchine, Hanoi where it is again wounded. Then, a career of the honors very traced towards stars with two required passages by Algeria and its dramatic end, the command of a regiment, then an enviable post of instructor at the School of American war.
