QuattroPole
QuattroPole is a network of transborder cities composed of Luxembourg, Metz, Saarbrucken and Trier. This association of cities is intended for the installation and the improvement of common services (telecommunications in particular) for, to means-term, to form a virtual European metropolis according to the site Web of QuattroPole. This alliance relates to the 9 million inhabitants of a zone economically very dynamic.
The declaration of intents of QuattroPole, which thus constitutes its birth certificate, was exposed to Metz on February 29th, 2000 by Paul Helminger, Bourgmestre of Luxembourg, Jean-Marie Rausch, mayor of Metz, Charlotte Britz, mayor of Saarbrucken and Klaus Jensen, mayor of Trier.
Organization
The Management Committee of QuattroPole is composed of the mayors of the four cities. It is in load of the strategic direction of QuattroPole. A coordination committee, made up members of the administrations of these cities is named by the four mayors. Each city shelters a local office in load of the administrative tasks. Lastly, of the work groups are made up around precise projects.
