The type-setter already took as a starting point this news for a Trio with cords and an outline of quartet, the two parts having been lost.

He is called intimate letters in homage to his egery, Kamila Stöslova, woman married, of almost forty years his junior, and who strongly influenced her work during the last years of her life. The musician exchanged an important correspondence with the latter.

This quartet was to be called originally love letters but the type-setter renonça for this reason, too explicit. In the same way, he wanted to replace the viola by a viola d'amore but did not maintain this project for technical reasons.

The quartet consists of four movements and its execution lasts a little less than thirty minutes.

  • Andante - idiot motor bike - allegro

  • Adagio - long-lived
  • Moderato - adagio - allegro
