Quarrel of Brest
Querelle of Brest is a novel of Jean Genet published in 1947.
Summary
A sailor, Quarrels, goes down to Brest. Beautiful and virile, it attracts the lieutenant of a boat. Quarrel is given to the owner of a bar: it is the price to pay to sleep with his wife, Mrs Lysiane. It is also given to a police officer, and attends a young assassin, Gil. Quarrel also killed before a homosexual young person to him with whom it had a connection.
Adaptation
It was adapted to the screen by Rainer W. Fassbinder under the title Querelle .
