Quanta Cleaned
Quanta Cleaned (" With which care… ") of the pope Pie IX is an encyclical written to condemn the principal politico-nuns errors of the 19th century. Data the December 8th 1864, it was accompanied by the Syllabus.
Sovereign pontiff criticizes mainly the naturalism applied to the civil society. By taking again the remarks of Mirari Your, it denounces the Freedom of conscience, the Populisme, the Laïcisme and the Anticléricalisme.
It pourfend at the same time the Socialism and the Communism to want to relegate all the family life to simple the Civil law. The adversaries of the Church, in particular the Secret societies, are taxed to want dépraver youth.
The document is completed by a apostolic Bénédiction and an encouragement with all the members of the episcopate.
