Qualitative methods

The qualitative methods are a method of research used in social sciences, such as for example in Sociologie, Ethnologie and Anthropologie. They leave side deliberately the aspect Quantitatif to gain in-depth in the analysis of the object of study. For that various techniques are implemented. The “x-ray groups”, the analysis of contents, the participative observation, are most important.
The “ x-ray groups ” (see) consist in joining together subjects and questioning them on their attitude with respect to a product, of an idea, a publicity, etc
The qualitative methods are usually used jointly with the quantitative Méthodes. The use of qualitative methods often makes it possible to interpret the numbers produced by quantitative methods.
