Quadratura
The will quadratura is a pictorial kind tending to simulate architectonic reliefs on the plane vaults of the churches, their interior walls (see the exterior facades) by effect of Trompe-l'oeil and Perspective, by an effect illusionist, the observers being always placed on the ground of the buildings.

The term will quadratura was introduced during the period Baroque to describe a simulated architecture. This technique links Architecture, Peinture and Sculpture, seeking to create a prospect illusionist and requires to control the rules of architecture and those of the prospect, also the imitation of textures (marble, gold, etc) and even of illustrated scenes (Giorgione and Titien with the Fondaco dei Tedeschi of Venice, 1508).Examples in the Masters
