DescriptionLike any system using a micronucleus, QNX is based on the original idea to make function most of the operating system like a whole of small tasks known under the name of waiters. The core differs from those more traditional and monolithic, in which the operating system is only one large program with particular faculties. In the case of QNX, the use of a micronucleus allow the users, or more particularly the developers, to decontaminate the functionalities which are not necessary for them, without having to change operating system.
Its main competitors on this market are VxWorks, Linux, and Microsoft Windows (THIS and Windows XP Embedded). However QNX remains leader in the field commutation rate of Tâche S. the introduction of the light Processus S ( threads ) or process weight-feather , in the other systems aims at giving them possibilities comparable commutation rate.
The security company of QNX and its team of programmers joined in 2004 the group Harman International as an independent division.
