QIT-Iron and Titane , in the past QIT ( Q uebec I ron and T itanium corporation ) is a company working, inter alia, in the area of Sorel-Tracy. This steelworks is one of principal of the area of Bas-Richelieu.

Two principal sites are in Quebec. The first is in Havre Saint Pierre. There are 230 workers who work with the extraction of the ore which will be then transported, by sea route, with the second site: Sorel Tracy.

Of Sorel, more than one thousand of workers take care of the transformation of Ilminite
