Pylos is a city on the Western coast of the Peloponnese, in Messénie, sometimes more known as a Navarin
Of all the palates mycéniens Pylos is the only one not to have walls or fortifications. Thus, one could deduce from it that it was perhaps the first with being destroyed in the neighborhoods of 1250 av J.C.
This city, the bay close to Pylos and the island of Sphactérie which closes almost the entry of bay, were the theater of a serious defeat that the Athéniens inflicted with the Spartiates in 425 front J. - C.
