Putian

Putian (莆田; Pinyin: Pútián) is a city of the province Fujian in China. It covers: 3781 km ² and its population were of 3,23 million inhabitants in 2004. A specific language of the group min is spoken there, the Puxian.

In 2005, total GDP was of 36,0 billion Yuan S, and the GDP per capita of: 12854 yuans.

Administrative divisions

The city-prefecture of Putian exerts its jurisdiction on five subdivisions - four districts and a county  :
  • the district of Chengxiang - 城厢区 Chéngxiāng Qū   ;
  • the district of Hanjiang - 涵江区 Hánjiāng Qū   ;
  • the district of Licheng - 荔城区 Lìchéng Qū   ;
  • the district of Xiuyu - 秀屿区 Xiùyǔ Qū   ;
  • the county of Xianyou - 仙游县 Xiānyóu Xiàn .
