Pusignan
Pusignan is a common French located in the department of the Rhone and the area the Rhone-Alps.
The inhabitants of Pusignan are called Pusignanais.
Geography
Pusignan is located on a plate surrounded by hills, to 18 km in the east of the town of Lyon. With its 3098 inhabitants (the last census), Pusignan belongs to the department of the Rhone. In clear weather, one can see top of the hills Lyon, the the Alps and the buttresses of the the Jura. The Dombes limits the city in the North-East.

The surface used for agriculture covers more half of the surface of the commune. One cultivates primarily corn, corn, the sunflower and colza.
History
The town of Pusignan was born from a morainic accumulation , on which was formerly built a station of monitoring and a military fulcrum, because one could from there, to supervise important trade route of Lyon with Crémieu. It owes its name with a lieutenant of César, name of - Pusinius . At the 12th century was built a castle, destroyed in 1789. But the Chapelle still remains, and is today in the center of the old cemetery.In the last years, the proximity of Lyon modified the aspect of the city. Many dwellings were built. However to preserve quality of life, and to compensate for the constraints of the environment, it is interdict to build buildings of more than two stages.
