The Puruṣa (पुरुष in Devanāgarī) this term Sanskrit means man, male, anybody; hero, in philosophy: the Being, the divine spirit, macrocosm; and for the sāṃkhya the Spirit or cosmic order, static male principle activated by the dynamic principle female of Nature (prakṛti).
Purusha, literally " Homme" , indicates the ultimate gasoline of the man, it Oneself. It is the Pure conscience, the Conscience-Witness (sâkshin) who observes, motionless and in silence, Prakriti. Purusha is " madhyastha" (which is held with the center): équanime, impartial, impassive. In stanza 56 of Sâmkhya-kârikâ, one finds the pratipurusha term which means all Purusha. Sâmkhya thus considers that there is a multiplicity of Purusha. " Such is the activity of Prakriti, the cosmic demonstration which goes from the Great principle to the particular coarse elements. It exists for the release of all Purusha (pratipurusha). Although it seems for itself, it is for autrui." (S-K. 56) " For the release of all Purusha" (pratipurusha) means that all the beings are intended to be released.
