Punta del Este is a coastal town of Uruguay, it is located in the department of Maldonado.
In 1820, the grounds belonged to great landowners there but Brazil attacked the country in 1827 and installed its troops, which caused the Bataille of Ituzaingó and in 1829, with independence, the government proposes the creation of a city named Ituzaingó in memory of the battle.
Then because of the civil wars, the project was abandoned until in 1843 date on which the government buys for 45.000 Peso S of money the ground and establishes a plan to distribute the sites. But again the project was forgotten, mainly because of the Dune S which made difficult the creation of road. The village started to be populated in 1857, the headlight was built in 1860 and the port into hard (front, it was necessary to accost on the beaches) between 1885 and 1887, the road (the old way passed in the dunes) as for it was built in 1911.
In 1906, the inhabitants claimed official elections to allow the establishment of a police station of police force, of a Tribunal, a school and an assembly of village.
The beach of Faced It which is under the Vent is that mainly used for the practice of the Surf whereas that of Mansa where there is no Vague S is the beach attended by the families.
