Punkalaidun
Punkalaidun is a municipality south-west of the Finland. It is located in the area Pirkanmaa. It was attached to this area only in 2005, it formed before part of the Satakunta.
The commune corresponds to the basin of the modest river Punkalaitumenjoki, affluent of the Loimijoki (Right Bank), which is thrown in its turn in the Kokemäenjoki. It is a commune of intermediate size, not very undulating and largely agricultural. Its central position (in a radius of 160 km 2/3 of the inhabitants of the country live), not far from the majority of the big cities (Helsinki 155 km, Tampere 78 km, Turku 100 km and Pori 89 km) has not prevented it from losing each year around fifty of managed per annum for 20 years (after having lost of them at least 100 per annum during the Années 1960 and 1970).
The commune is located at the crossroads of 4 areas and is bordered by the following municipalities:
- Kanta-Häme : Humppila (south-eastern)
- Finland of South-west: Loimaa and Alastaro (in the south)
- Satakunta: Huittinen (western)
- Pirkanmaa: Vammala in north, Urjala in the east.
