Pumping
The Pompage is a phenomenon Aérodynamique which intervenes in a Compresseur. When the difference in pressure between the entry and the exit of the compressor becomes too high, of instabilities which one calls Décollement S appear on the level of the paddles of the compressor.
So by increasing the number of revolutions the difference in pressure between the entry and the exit of a compressor increases, this increase in pressure is limited by this phenomenon of pumping.
Lorsque the compression ratio (i.e. the relationship between the pressure of exit and the pressure of entry of the compressor) exceeds a breaking value, pumping appears and the increase number of revolutions of the paddles of the compressor will not influence the compression ratio almost any more.
If this phenomenon bubble the performances of the compressors, it is also a destroying phenomenon for the paddles of the compressors.
