Pujols
Pujols is a common French, located in the department of the Ariège and the area the Midday-Pyrenees. Its inhabitants is called Pujolais.
Geography
History
After having been a possession of the County of Foix, Pujols belong to XIIe century with the Seigniory of Mirepoix (then in Languedoc). Its church remained related as for it to the Saint-Volusien abbey of Foix. At the time of the War One hundred Year old, the Borough and more precisely its castle (disappeared today) were the camp of truck drivers who ransacked the neighborhoods. The city is taken again by Arnoul d' Audrehem, then Marshal of France, in 1363. It gives it to the Lord of Mirepoix, without omitting to make him pay the expenses of war, and especially to impose a fine to him not to have defended the country.At XIXe and the beginning of the XXe century, one manufactured in Pujols of the tiles and bricks.
Nowadays, the village has an Aerodrome. Created in 1976, it forms pilot, acrobats, parachutists, and is the place of construction amateur. This aerodrome is managed by the Chamber of commerce and of industry of Ariège.
