Poussif is one of the two main characters of the series of Cartoon Poussin and Poussif .

Portrait

Poussif is a Chien, resembling rather a Dalmatien (but which is a German Dogue according to Albert Uderzo), which is given the responsability by the parents with Poussin to supervise it. But this task is not without him to pose some problems because it is rather old and the baby is not wise whole. In spite of that, Poussif is a responsible dog, which takes enormous risks to bring back the child to the house, and it always accepts the reproaches that make him the parents.

With the wire of the stories

The series Chick and Poussif is divided into three short stories:

• In Chick and Poussif , the mom entrusts her baby to Poussif during its nap. After the departure of its mom, Poussin leaves sound landeau and leaves to rove in the street. The Dog street then with its continuation, avoiding accuracy being made crush by a car, and finds it in a store of confectioneries from where it is nicely made return… Then it recovers it at the lost-and-found office before bringing back it at his place. With the return of the mom, the latter sees Poussif resting aside of the landeau, and she shouts " to him; let us go lazy!. The nap is finished! … "

In this history, Poussif appears in twenty-three boxes.

• In the second history, entitled Chick, Puffing and Frederique , the Chien is still elected by the parents to supervise Poussin and its friend Frederique. After an argument between the two babies, Poussif thunders Frederique which gives him a slap on truffle. Then, the two babies run towards the kitchen and draw the tablecloth from the table to make there fall the cake stored above. After the fall of the cake, Poussif gallops towards the small ones but slips on the tablecloth by receiving the cake on the head. On her return, the mother thunders the Chien, reproaching him for not being wise and for having left the children alone in their room…

Poussif appears there too in twenty-three different boxes.

• Lastly, in Chick and Poussif with hunting , the parents take along Poussif in a forest to drive out, and leave the child Poussin in the car. As soon as his/her parents left, the baby leaves by the window and gambade in the forest, clinging in particular to the tail of a Sanglier. He falls nose to nose on Poussif which, thanks to its instinct of responsible Chien, brings back it to the car. The parents, who seek Poussif everywhere, see it aside of the car after it deposited the child there. At this point in time they treat it the lazy one and of " beautiful dog of chasse" (ironic expression)…

Comments

The name of Poussif comes owing to the fact that this Chien is rather old, and… puffing. Moreover, it is blown regularly by continuing Poussin, which makes him say " Pouf, pouf, pouf".
