Publius Rupilius
Publius Rupilius is a Roman statesman , which becomes consul in -132 during the investigation which followed the death of Tiberius Gracchus, led with his/her colleague Popillius Laenas, it continued with greatest severity the partisans of Gracchus.
The same year, it was dispatched in Sicily, where it repressed the First war servile, to order by the slave Syrian Enuus, of which the army was to compose of 60.000 to 200.000 men.
In -131 it remained like Proconsul of the island, and, with the assistance of ten police chief indicated by the senate and worked out payments for the organization of Sicily like province. These payments were known by the title of light Rupiliae , although they were not laws in the strict direction.
In -123, it was condemned for its treatment of the friends of Gracchus. The dishonor of its judgment, plus disappointment to see his/her brother not obtaining consulate, in spite of the efforts of Scipio, caused its death little time afterwards.
