Since January 1st, 2007, the Center has the statute of service to national competence and its official designation is Public records of the work world .

It is established in the old spinning mill Mound-Bossut, which closed its doors in 1981. Registered with the additional inventory of the historic buildings since 1978, the building was acquired by the commune, which yielded the central body to the State in 1984 to accommodate the new institution. Work of rehabilitation of the spinning mill starts however only in 1989, under the direction of the architect Alain Sarfati, and lasts until 1993.
