Ptolémée Alexandre is a sovereign lagide who briefly reigns on the Egypt in -80. He is the son of Ptolémée {{X}} '' Alexandre {{Ier}} '' and succeeds his uncle Ptolémée {{IX}} '' Sôter {{II}} '' in -80 imposed by Sylla.

But it is constrained to share the capacity by marrying Bérénice {{III}} '' Philopator '', the girl of Ptolémée {{IX}}, widow of Ptolémée {{X}} (she was thus her cousin and her mother-in-law). At the end of 47 days of reign it makes assassinate Bérénice but thus causes the revolt of the army which cuts the throat of it in the gymnasium of the town of Alexandria.

The natural son of Ptolémée {{IX}}, Ptolémée {{XII}} '' Aulète '' succeeds to him but is not recognized by the Romans who affirm being, under the terms of an alleged will, the heirs to Ptolémée.
