Pteropus livingstonii

The Roussette of Livingstone ( Pteropus livinstonii ) is a species of bat of the kind Pteropus .

The species is present only at Anjouan and Mohéli, two islands of the the Comoros. It is the rarest species of the largest bat and of the archipelago. Its habitat is the forest of mountain, whose destruction is the principal threat which weighs on the survival of the species.

In 2003, the population was estimated at: 1200 individuals.
