Ptahchepsès was the vizier of the Pharaon Niouserrê of the Egyptian woman.

This colourful character had an extraordinary destiny which symbolizes rather well the capacity of progression and social advancement that the ancient Egypt could offer to its inhabitants. Largely facilitated social evolution when one revolved in the royal entourage, and it was the case of Ptahchepsès.

Its tomb found in the necropolis royal of Abousir teaches us that it had begun like “simple” manicurist and barber of the king, which either is already a privileged position because in contact intimates with the royal person. It allured one of his daughters, another rare “privilege” for simple notable and ends up becoming the most important character of the State after Pharaon when this one allotted to him the priceless load of the government and the responsibility for the kingdom.

Burial

Its mastaba is one of largest and the most succeeded the buildings of the kind and comprises a complex device of rooms and course intended for its funerary worship as with his royal wife who was buried with him in her vault.
