Ptérocaryer of the Caucasus

Ptérocaryer of the Caucasus ( Pterocarya fraxinifolia ) is a tree of the kind Pterocarya and of the family of the Juglandaceae .

It is a vigorous tree, with more or less spread out port. Its sheets, long from 30 to 40 cm have a cylindrical median vein. They are made up from 20 to 30 oval oblong leaflets, of color glossed dark green.

The fruits, greens, winged, grouped out of hanging ears from 40 to 50 cm length approximately, appear in summer.

Size: 25 m in height for 20 m in diameter approximately.

Origin: the Caucasus and Nord of Iran.

Rusticity: good.
