Psycroptic
Psycroptic is an Australian group of Death technical metal, founded in 1999 per Dave and Joe Halley.
Before founding Psycroptic, the Halley brothers played in a group called Disseminate, having recorded a demonstration into 1998 before separating. A little later they founded Psycroptic with the bass player Cameron Grant and the singer Matthew Chalk, which was also beater for M.S.I., a local group of Grindcore.
The first production of the group was The Isle off Disenchantment , left in 2000, which although conceived to be only one demonstration, impressed the members of the group so much so that it had left as an album to whole share. Not having a label at the time, this album was own-produced by the members of the group. Shortly after the exit of this first album, the group was on several occasions invited to play Melbourne and at the end of 2001, they divided the poster of the festival Metal for the Brain with Canberra.
In 2003, Psycroptic left its second album: The Scepter off the Ancients under the American label Single Leader Records. The same year, the group started its first round through all Australia, assuming the first part of the concerts of the American group Incantation. Always in 2003, the Halley brothers joined The Amenta, a group of Black industrial metal based with Sydney and recorded with this group the album Ocassus . Dave Halley also worked on Atom in time , a EP of the Ruins group, originating in the town of Hobart just like Psycroptic.
2004 were the year of the revelation for Psycroptic. They carried out a new Australian round, this time with the group Deeds off flesh, then went to Europe to follow in a great round the Swedish groups Dismember and Anata. However the singer, Matthew Chalk, did not wish to be invested in such a voyage. It is a friend with him, Jason Peppiatt, singer in another group of Hobart, Born Headless, which was recruited to sing in the place of Chalk during the European round. Of return in Australia, Psycroptic took part again in the festival Metal for the Brain. Following that, Matthew Chalk was returned group and in 2005 Jason Peppiatt took officially its place.
Psycroptic gave some concerts in Australia with Hate Eternal, before beginning the writing of their third album, Symbols off Failure , which was going to leave in 2006 pennies the label Neurotic Records. This exit was followed of another European round with groups such as Nile, before returning to Australia to ensure the first part of a round of the American group Cannibal Corpse.
At the beginning of 2007, Psycroptic started to work on a new album before setting out again for Europe in order to ensure the first part of the concerts of Deicide. During this round, the guitarist Joe Halley known of the health issues which contraingnirent the group to cancel their four last services. June 10th, 2007, Psycroptic was with the poster of the Like Together Music Festival with Sydney.
