Psychological assessment of the child and the teenager
The psychological assessment makes it possible to know a pupil for example, beyond his school difficulties, for better including/understanding its problems. By means of talks and standardized tests, the Psychologue evaluates the potential of the Enfant, his resources, its centers of interests and the strong points of its Personnalité. These tests, practiced exclusively by experienced psychologists, are several types: scales of Intelligence, tests of Memory, tests of personality, evaluation of the Anxiety.
Often recommended by the teachers, the psychological assessment can also be made at the request of the parents for problems of Comportement or Communication.

Course of a psychological assessment
The psychological assessment comprises three stages:- preliminary Discussion with the parents: the psychologist takes into account the reason for the request for assessment and recalls with the parents the course of their child, i.e. his history, his relations with the others, his first trainings. This maintenance, of approximately an hour, makes it possible to also discover it its sphere family and social and formed integral part of the assessment.
- Making of the tests: the duration of the assessment is from two to four hours according to the number of tests.
Because a psychological assessment is used to look further into the comprehension of the child in his singularity, it does not have there the good ones or bad answers to the tests. These are the results, analyzed in the light of the personality of the child, which provide to the psychologist indications on his operating process. - Report and orientation: the psychologist has and comments on the results with the various tests, then gives to the parents a detailed report.
The goal of an assessment is not only to include/understand why “that does not go”, but to answer how making so that “it goes”. The interpretation of the results will make it possible to specify the tension fields of the accompaniment of the child. Each difficulty, once identified, calls a specific answer: orthoepic rehabilitation, psychomotor taken of load , specific extra teaching, Psychotherapy…
