the Vagrant (original title: The Wanderer ) is a Romance of Science-fiction, written by Fritz Leiber, published with the the United States in 1964 and France in 1969
Synopsis
An unknown object, called the Vagrant , penetrates in the solar system, causing many catastrophes: the height of the tides rises, the volcanos awake and of the earthquakes occur with impromptu. But the Vagabond is not a simple asteroid, it is actually a spaceship manned by people cat to which belonged the charming one and frightening Tigrishka. At the time of a tidal wave, this one saves a kitten at the same time as an human being. She then realizes, with horror, that this one is not as she thought it of the service of the kitten but which it belongs to the dominant race of this planet. Nevertheless, it is let a little attract by that which it regards as a monkey.
Literary prizes
the Vagrant of Fritz Leiber gained in 1965 the Prix Hugo of the best novel of Science-fiction.

It is to note that the novel of Fritz Leiber was the first volume published in the collection, directed “Elsewhere and tomorrow” by Gerard Klein.
