Psalm 91
Psalm 91, commonly referred like Hebrew Yoshèv bessètèr in and Which Latin habitat in , is known like the Psalm of Protection. It is possible, according to A.J. Kolatch, which it was used in old times in order to carry out true " Exorcism ".
Il is associated with heavy circumstances, of which mourning so much in the Judaïsme than in the Christianisme, which made it very popular in works of fiction.
Dans the anglophone countries, it is often sung at the time of the office of Complies, in its translation according to Psautier Écossais.
Its author is not named. As one finds elements present there in the Pentateuque, and that the preceding Psalm (#90) is allotted to Moïse, the tradition tends to allot that one too to him. Such is in any case the opinion of the famous commentator of the Hebraic Bible, Rachi, whose work insipiré until Martin Luther.
Le comment of Rachi (translated starting from the English, and not of the Hebrew) on Psalm 91 is reproduced here, in comment of the French translation of the text.
