The toponym Préchacq-Navarrenx appears in the forms Preciani (comments of César), Prexag (XIIIe century, titles of Béarn), Prexac-with Arribere (1368, notaries of Lucq-with-Béarn), Presxac (1385, censier of Béarn), the nau of Prexac E lo passadge of aquere (vat allowing the crossing of the gave of Oloron, 1385, notaries of Navarrenx), Prexacq-with-Rivere and Prechac-on this side (respectively 1548 and 1675, reformation of Béarn).
History
Paul Raymond note which the commune counted a laic abbey, vassal of the Viscount of Béarn.In 1385, Préchacq-Navarrenx counted 39 fires and depended on the Bailliage of Navarrenx.
