Protected from Boleslas Piles

His/her father dies four months before his birth. His/her uncle Boleslas the Piles becomes the sovereign of the Duché of Poznań and takes Przemysl II pennies his protection.

In 1272, it takes part in the war against the Brandebourg which makes it possible to recover the territories of Strzelce and Drezdenko which had been invades by the Germans. The same year, he concludes an alliance with Mestwin II, the duke of the Poméranie de Gdańsk.

Duke of Poznań

Starting from 1273, Przemysl II leaves the court of his/her uncle and asserts the heritage of his/her father. Boleslas the Piles reaches its request and the duchy of Poznań gives him. The same year, it intervenes in the Civil war in Silesia and marries Lutgarde, the girl of the duke Henri Ier de Mecklembourg. In 1276/1277, the relations with Boleslas the Piles cools, Przemysl II being combined with Henri IV the Juste whereas his/her uncle wished an alliance with Piasts of Silesia. In 1277, Henri IV is made remove by men of Boleslas II the Bald person. Przemysl II, Henri III of Głogów and the knight S of the duchy of Wrocław sets up an military operation to deliver Henri IV. It is a fiasco. United are crushed the April 24th 1277 by the army of the duchy of Legnica, directed by Henri V the Large, the son of Boleslas II the Bald person. Przemysl II and Henri III of Głogów are captured. Boleslas slackens its prisoners only with the end of the year, following the mediation of Ottokar II of Bohemia. The following year, he becomes the godfather of Przemysl d' Inowrocław.

Duke of Large Poland

In 1279, after the death of his/her uncle, Przemysl inherits all Large Poland. In February 1281, Henri IV the Juste invites the dukes Henri III of Głogów, Henri V the Large one and Przemysl II to meet it. Actually, it is about a trap. As of their arrival, the dukes are arrested and imprisoned. They are slackened only in exchange of a Hommage of Vassalité. Moreover, Przemysl II is forced to give to the duke of Wrocław the area of Wieluń. With Kępno, the February 15th 1282, Przemysl concludes an agreement with Mestwin II, in virtue of which Poméranie de Gdańsk must return to him after the death of Mestwin.

The December 14th 1283, in Poznań, Lutgarde is assassinated on order of her husband, which tarnishes the reputation of the duke of Large Poland. In 1285, it crushes a revolt of part of the Noble S of its duchy which wanted to approach Silesia. The same year, he marries Ryksa, the girl of Valdemar Ier of Sweden, which gives him a girl, Élizabeth Ryksa, who will become the wife of Venceslas II, then of Rodolphe de Habsbourg. The November 23rd 1287, Słupsk, Przemysł II and Mestwin II show a Western alliance with Bogusław IV from Poméranie against Brandebourg and set up a plan to take again Poméranie de Gdańsk with the duke Wisław II of Rügen. The relations of Przemysl II with Henri IV the Juste are heated and the EC-last returns the area of Wieluń to him.

Duke of Cracow

Henri IV the Juste dies the June 23rd 1290. In its will, it offers the throne of Cracow to Przemysl. This one seizes the Petite Poland but Ladislas I {{er}} the Brief, the duke of Cujavie, remains the Master of the duchy of Sandomierz which normally is also allocated to the duke of Cracow.

Venceslas II of Bohemia also asserts the throne of Cracow. The middle-class IE German of Cracow and much the small noble ones supports the claims of Venceslas, who in terms of safety, prestige and hope of Economic development offers more than Przemysl II, but with the danger that the Poland is integrated into the Holy roman Empire.

Threatened by Ladislas Ier the Brief and unpopular in Cracow, Przemysl II is constrained to sign an agreement with Venceslas II. It gives up Small Poland to him as well as the duchy of Sandomierz which Ladislas the Brief seized.

King de Pologne

Not being able to be solved to give up the throne, the January 6th 1293, with Kalisz, on the initiative of the Archbishop Jakub Świnka, it concludes an agreement with Ladislas the Brief and its brother Casimir II from Łęczyca to carry out an united action in order to take again Small Poland with the sovereign of Bohemia. In exchange of their support, Przemysl, which does not have wire, makes of Ladislas Short its heir in Large Poland, Small Poland and in the duchy of Poméranie de Gdańsk. The same year, he marries Marguerite, the girl of the Margrave of Brandebourg Albert III. Mestwin II dies the December 25th 1294 and Przemysl succeeds to him.

The June 26th 1295, with Gniezno, Jakub Świnka crowns Przemysl II king de Pologne, without awaiting the agreement of the Pape and the Holy roman Empire. The February 8th 1296, Przemysl II is removed and assassinated by henchmen with the pay of the margraves de Brandebourg because the new king, who wanted to reunify all the Polish territories, was an obstacle with their territorial expansion towards the east. He is buried in the cathedral of Poznań.
