see also: Etymology of Prurigo
A prurigo is a intense Prurit of the skin with vesiculate papules érythèmateuse and with lesions of scraping. In the medical jargon, the prurigo term is very often used for:
- to indicate an intense prurit without obvious organic cause;
- to indicate lesions of the skin (lesions of scraping, eczema…) caused by scraping of a psychological or different origin; usually, it is a cutaneous or general attack which causes the prurit and the lesions of scraping which are the consequence: the " term; prurigo" is used in the medical jargon to indicate the reverse.
