Prunus

The kind Prunus gathers more than 200 Espèce S of Arbre S and Arbuste S of the family of the Rosacées, of which much is cultivated for their Fruit S (Abricotier, Amandier, Cerisier, Pêcher, Prunier) or for their decorative value (Cerisier of Japan, Cerisier of Virginia, Laurier-cerise…). Certain decorative species not having a common noun are simply called “ prunus ”. Certain species are toxic, the Laurier-cerise for example.

Description

Fleur

The flower with five Petal S and five Sépale S is usually white while passing by all the nuance to the pink. It can be separately constant but be in Grappe or Ombelle.

Break into leaf

The sheet simple and is generally lancéolée. Its circumference is cogged.

Fruit

The fruit of all the Prunus is a Drupe with a large core.
