Prunay-the-temple
Prunay-the-Temple is a common French, located in the department of the Yvelines and the area Île-de-France.
Its inhabitants is called Prunaysiens.

Geography
The commune of Prunay-the-Temple is in the east of Yvelines and the south of the Mantois, with approximately sixteen kilometers in the south of Mantes-the-Pretty and with thirteen kilometers in the North-East of Houdan, the chief town of canton.It is bordering on Saint-Martin-of-Fields in the North-East, of Orgerus in south-east, Tacoignières in the south, Orvilliers in the west, Mulcent in the North-West and Septeuil in north.
The communal territory extends on nearly 700 hectares on the plate to Mantois between 110 and 130 meters to altitude light inclined towards north. It is delimited towards the North-East by the valley of Flexanville, tributary brook of the Vaucouleurs which receives on its left the Ru of Prunay. The confluence of these two rivers, which notches the plate rather deeply, is located at the northern point of the commune. The territory is in near total rural (with nearly 96%) and wooded for a third approximately, in particular with the wood of Prunay located in the south of the communal territory.
The habitat of the individual type gathers in the principal borough around the school and of the town hall in the south of the Ru of Prunay, and the Hameau in north.
Located at the variation of the main roads, Prunay-the-Temple is connected to the common neighbors by the communal roadway system. The secondary road D 166 crosses wood in the south of the commune, far with the variation from the village while the secondary road D 42 passes in extreme cases is, ensuring the connection with Septeuil.
The Sentier of great excursion GR. 22 follows the south-eastern limit of the commune between the wood of High-Limits (Orgerus) and Prunay.
History
A commandery of the Templiers was installed in the commune in XIIe century. Its goods reserved for the Order of Hospital of Saint-Jean-of-Jerusalem during the dissolution about the Temple then were sold like national goods with the Revolution.The common one was attached to the canton of Houdan in 1802 (it depended previously on the canton of Septeuil).

- Saint Martin's day Church: very simple stone building of architecture, probably dating from the XVIIe century.
- Laundrette of the XIXe century, restored in 1993.
- Firm of Commanderie: old commandery of Templiers, XIIIe century, transformed into farm.
