History

Mandate of UNO

To supervise the Cease-fire with the Kampuchea, to carry out naval patrols in the approaches of the gulf of Thailand like in the great rivers like the Mekong and to sensitize the population with the Mine clearance. The police officers detached by the Member States of UNO (CIVPOL) intervening in Kampuchea at this period took part in the organization and the behavior of the free elections, like with the sensitizing of the local police to the human rights. Canada started to withdraw its forces of the APRONUC in September 1993, and the majority of the Canadian representatives had already left at the end of October the same year. The last three were supposed to leave in their turn in December 1993.

The ribbon

The ribbon is composed of nine bands: dark green (9 mm), dark blue (1 mm), blue UNO (4 mm), red (1 mm), white (3 mm), red (1 mm), blue UNO (4 mm), dark blue (1 mm) and dark green (9 mm).

Attribution

This Médaille was decreed in 90 days recognition of service between March 1992 and December 1993.
