Provinces and territories of Pakistan

Currently, the Pakistan is divided in four provinces, two territories as well as a portion of the Cachemire managed by the Pakistani government.

In the past, Pakistan was simply subdivided in two provinces, the Eastern Pakistan and the Western Pakistan. This last was divided later into various districts, which became provinces with the creation of the Bangladesh.

Provinces

  1. Balouchistan, 347.000 km ²

  2. the Province of the Border of the North-West ( NWFP or North-West Frontier Province ), 74.000 km ²
  3. the Penjab, 205.000 km ²
  4. the Sind or Sindh, 140.000 km ²

Territories

  1. the federal Territory managed of capital (FATA), 27.000 km ²
  2. the tribal Areas

Zones of the Jammu-Kashmir managed by Pakistan

  1. the Azad Cashmere or free Cashmere , the zone of the Cashmere occupied by Pakistan and asserted by the India
  2. the territories of North, a zone occupied by Pakistan and asserted by India
