Province of Teshio

Teshio (天塩国, - No kuni) is an old province of the Japan located on the island of Hokkaido. It was located on an area which corresponds today to the sub-prefecture of Rumoi and the northern half of the sub-prefecture of Kamikawa.

History

  • August 15th 1869, the province is established and divided into 6 districts.
  • 1872, the population is estimated at 1.576 inhabitants.
  • 1882, all the provinces of Hokkaido amalgamate.
